The Ball |
Modern tennis balls are made of hollow vulcanized rubber with a felt coating. The International Tennis Federation (ITF) defines the official diameter as 65.41–68.58 mm (2.575–2.700 in). Balls must weigh between 56.0 and 59.4 g (1.98 and 2.10 oz). |
The Racket |
The rackets must adhere to the following guidelines;

Each batsman gets a max of 3 missed swings; the batsman "strikes out" if they miss for a 3rd time. |

Three (Home Run with all bases occupied -- aka Grand Slam). |
Powerderby Court:
- 160'x 60' at the widest.
- Home Run Zone (HRZ) = 100’ x 60’.
- Base Triangle = 60' at the widest.
- Edge of the Court = Boundary (or boundary rope).
- Any player who leaves the game may re-enter it at any time.
- There are 4 players on the field per team (2 men & 2 women).
- A min of 4 and max of 8 on any team's roster.
- (IF) Infielders: guard all three bases.
- (OF) Outfielders: same as outfielders in Baseball.
- All Fielders can be anywhere in their area, but cannot move from their area to another.
- Similar to rugby, both teams must wear their dark color uniforms during games unless either 1) the teams share similar colors or 2) if someone is colorblind; If that is the case, the designated home team will wear their dark color uniforms and the away team will wear either 1) their lighter color uniforms or 2) an alternative darker color uniform.
- Tennis / Racquetball rackets only.
- The ball is a tennis ball.
- The boundaries are designated by poles/sticks or boundary lines.
- Each team has 4 overs each (8 overall).
- An over is six consecutive swings (includes missed swings and foul balls).
- A conventional tennis swing is a legal swing; all misses count towards the over-count.
- Boundaries count as part of the Fair Hit Zones; Foul ball = outside of boundaries.
- All players must be able to hit both right and left-handed.
- Team Batting Order:
- The same rules apply to overtimes.
- A coin toss will decide who will bat first and last.
- The away team always gets the pick.
- The winner of the toss gets to pick what order the teams will play in.
- The team's Batting order is determined by the team captain.
- # of Referees: 1 referee; Dismissal procedure = automatic.
- Strikeout (3 missed swings).
- Fly-out (catching ball before landing).
- Tag-out (tagging runner or base before runner touches base).
- Interference (batter or runner intentionally interfering with the fielding side).
- Handled the ball (batter intentionally touching the ball with hand).
- Batting Team:
a) # of base runs = # of pts.
b) Baserunners will not subsequently score when moving around the bases on another player's hit.
c) Home Run = 1pt + numbers of base-runners (Hit - Home Run Zone). - Fielding Team:
a) Fouls (Fly-out, Tag-out, Interference, handled the ball) = 1pt each.
